Desi Girl is a combination of two absolute opposite worlds. The glamorous Mumbai girls transformed into pure Indian village girls.

Eight of Mumbai's glamorous babes are transplanted into a real life village in Punjab. These divas have to adapt to village life and also have to compete with one another to win the hearts of the village people.

The show airs on NDTV Imagine every Fri-Sun 9 PM and is based on the Internationally popular show 'Celebrity Sleepover', but our bombshells are desi, aren't they?

A model and an actress, Roshni is also known to be a talented dancer and singer. She is well known for her role as Pia in Ekta Kapoor's serial Kasam Se. She is ready to star in Vikram Bhatt's Phhir scheduled for release in the summer of 2010.
She is presently hosting Comedy Circus-Teen Ka Tadka airing on Sony TV and is one of the firm contenders to be 'Desi Girl'


2. Rucha Gujarati


She started her career as a child artist and did some movies like Dancer, Shabzade, Hum Hain Kamal Ke, Kanyadan, Shikari and Tak Dhina Din. Rucha also did commercials for some top brands.
She's also starred in music albums and daily soaps like: Kkusum, Bhabhi, Waaris, Waqt Batayga Kaun Apna Kaun Paraya, Rihahee, Shh Phir Koi Hain, Saas v/s Bahu reality dance show. Rucha is acting in her debut film Lottery where she will be starring opposite Abhijeet Sawant.

3. Anmol Singh



Anmol is a student of St. Stephens College in Delhi. She made her debut on Television with MTV Roadies, an adventure reality show.
She got so much fame through roadies that soap Queen Ekta Kapoor signed Anmol for her serial Kuch Is Tara, which is running on prime time TV. She's ready to rock as a 'Desi Girl'.

4. Monica Bedi



Monica hails from Hoshiarpur, Punjab, India. She is a Bollywood actress who started her film career with Suraksha (Hindi) and Taj Mahal (Telugu) in 1995.
She was arrested with underworld don Abu Salem by the Lisbon police for entering Portugal with illegal documents and had to spend several years in prison.
Monica regained her popularity after her participation in the reality show Big Boss-Season 2 on Sony TV. Being from Punjab, she has a natural advantage in 'Desi Girl'.

5. Kashmira Shah



Has been a model and beauty queen, crowned both as Miss University World and Miss India talent winner.
For over eight years she has been acting on the big screen and is best known for her roles in hit movies like: Yes Boss, Jungle, Aankhen and Vaastav. She's already making waves in 'Desi Girl'

6. Ishitta Arun



Daughter of actress and singer Ila Arun, Ishitta is not only video jockey and Indian model but also an actress. She had also hosted Sa Re Ga Ma Pa with Shaan in the year 2006.
She's already made her debut as the main female lead in movie 'Kahan Ho Tum'.

7. Sambhavna Seth



She is an actress and item girl of Bollywood. She has also worked with numerous Telugu films and Hindi Music Albums. Helen and Madhuri Dixit are her idols.
Sambhavna gained huge popularity after participating in the reality show Big Boss2. She also participated in a Dance show, Dancing Queen and won the prize and loads of appreciation. She is now ready get rural in 'Desi Girl'.

8. Aushima Sawhney



Aushima has studied Media Arts Production and Communication in University of Technology from Sydney. She has also studied Television presenting and acting in NIDA, Sydney.
She was launched by Pooja Bhatt in 2007 in her film, Dhokha. Aushima shifted to Mumbai as a participant of the Miss India 2005 beauty pageant. Now, she wants to be a village belle in 'Desi Girl'.[/hide]

Don't really know as I don't watch the show but from what I've seen of these contestants elsewhere Roshni Chopra seems the most down to earth
